Terms of Use

Potto helps you plan and shop for your weekly meals. You pick a supermarket, a budget, cooking styles, dietary needs, household size, and the appliances you own, and Potto generates a meal plan with recipes, cook times, servings, cost and nutrition estimates, dish images, and a sorted shopping list. With Fridge Chef you can photograph your ingredients to get recipe suggestions, and with Calorie Snap you can photograph a meal to log an estimate of its nutrition. Potto is a planning and inspiration tool, not a substitute for professional advice.

You must be at least 13 years old and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live to use Potto. By using the app you confirm you meet these requirements. Potto is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

Meal plans, recipes, ingredient lists, nutrition values, cost estimates, ingredient detections, and images in Potto are produced by an automated artificial-intelligence system. This content is for general guidance only and may contain mistakes. Prices are estimates and will not always match the real prices at your chosen supermarket, which can change at any time. You are responsible for checking recipes and ingredients against your own needs before relying on them.

You are solely responsible for confirming that any meal, ingredient, or recipe is safe and suitable for you and anyone you cook for. While Potto lets you set dietary preferences such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, or dairy free, it cannot guarantee that a generated or detected recipe is free from allergens or fully meets a specific medical diet. Always read product labels, follow safe food-handling and cooking practices, and consult a qualified professional about allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary needs. Potto is not responsible for any adverse reaction from food you prepare or eat.

Calorie Snap and the nutrition figures shown throughout Potto are automated approximations, not measured values. They depend on how a photo is taken, portion sizes, and ingredients the app cannot see, so they may be inaccurate. These estimates are for general awareness only and must not be used for medical, clinical, weight-management, or other decisions where precise nutrition matters. If you have specific dietary or health requirements, rely on professional guidance rather than Potto's estimates.

When you use Fridge Chef or Calorie Snap, you choose to send a photo to the app for analysis. You confirm that you have the right to share each image and that it shows food, ingredients, or your own kitchen — not other people, private documents, or anything you are not entitled to upload. Photos are used only to generate the requested result. You are responsible for the content of the images you submit.

Potto offers an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks premium features. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and billed to your Apple ID. Payment is charged when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and your account is charged within the 24 hours before renewal. You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in your Apple account settings. If a free trial is offered, the full price is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current period.

Purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple, and refund requests follow Apple's policies rather than being processed directly by Potto. If you submit a refund request for a Potto purchase, we may be required to give Apple information related to that transaction so the request can be reviewed. This may include how long the app was actively used, an anonymised user identifier not linked to your real identity, the total amount spent in the app, and the total already refunded. We share this only to help assess and process refund requests.

You agree to use Potto only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms. You must not reverse engineer, decompile, copy, resell, or otherwise exploit the app or its content beyond personal use; interfere with or disrupt the app or its backend; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service; submit content you have no right to share; or use the app in any way that could harm Potto, its providers, or other users. We may suspend or restrict access if these Terms are breached.

Potto and its design, branding, software, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms transfer no ownership to you. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own meal planning. Meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists generated for you may be used for your personal cooking and shopping.

Potto relies on third-party services to work, including a backend that runs the artificial intelligence used to generate plans and analyse photos, Mixpanel for usage analytics, Apphud for subscription management, and the Apple App Store for purchases. Your use of these services may also be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties, but we work with providers that support the app's intended functionality.

Potto is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated content, detections, prices, or estimates will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. Your use of the app and reliance on its content is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Potto and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including reliance on meal plans, prices, nutrition information, ingredient detections, or recipes. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We may update, change, or discontinue features of Potto at any time, and we may revise these Terms occasionally. When we make a meaningful change to these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Potto after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

You may stop using Potto and delete the app at any time. We may suspend or end your access to the app or its services if you breach these Terms or use the app in a way that could cause harm. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence to the extent required, and otherwise by the laws under which Potto operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory consumer rights you have that cannot be waived.
